My seventh grade students have been in a unit that one of the main focuses has been space. We have looked at sci-fi stories as well as more realistic concepts.

Their current assignment is to write a poem in two parts. The first part is writing a poem in perspective of an astronaut/someone on a space mission. The first part ends with them landing on the planet/moon etc. that they are heading to. The second part is fromt he perspective of an intelligent life form from that planet reacting to the arrival of these mysterious people.

I have been pleased by the poems and I decided to post some of them on EYG in the Geek Poetry Corner. The students will have a pseudonym on their poem to protect identities.
