I did not know that Denzel Washington was going to be in this movie. He is always a welcome sight on the screen.
Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal are also here. Pascal and his soon to be teammate in the Fantastic Four, Joseph Quinn, are both here too.
I know there has been a lot of controversy over the hip hop music used in the trailer, but I do not think it would have bothered me had I not already heard the complaints before I watched the trailer.
I never would have thought that Gladiator would have a sequel made of it, and yet here we are with evidence that it actually does exist.
It is scheduled to be released on November 22, 2024.
The next Marvel Television program coming to Disney + will be Agatha All Along, a spin-off of WandaVision, the first Disney + Marvel TV show, featuring the character of Agatha Harkness, who is played the by awesome Kathryn Hahn.
This teaser trailer was a surprise this morning. I was on YouTube and I spotted Kristian Harloff doing a trailer reaction to this. I had no idea there was a trailer due to be released for Agatha All Along so I was very excited.
Kathryn Hahn was one of the best parts of, arguably, still the best Marvel TV show ever. Her witch was after the power of Wanda, in particular the power of the Scarlet Witch. Wanda left her in a mental prison as such, trapped within the world she had created.
Agatha All Along has gone through a ton of renaming over the time since its announcement including Coven of Chaos, Darkhold Diaries, House of Harkness, Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe or just Agatha. How much of this was Marvel trolling is unknown, but that Wardrobe title feels like a Marvel joke.
After seeing the trailer, I have to say that this was not anywhere near what I was expecting. It is scheduled to release in September, in time for Halloween, and there is no doubt that the Halloween vibe is what they were going for here. There were all kinds of creepy imagery in the trailer and it had a different feel to the manner in which it was filmed. The first scene of the trailer did not feel like Agatha at all and I would not have known this was Agatha if I just saw the opening of the trailer.
I expected more of a humorous vibe, but this is an interesting switch. It is a Marvel property so there will be humor in it, but the darker tone makes me very intrigued where this series is heading.
It will release with a double episode in September.
The animated X-Men is back, picking up directly after the original animated series ended back in the 1990s. Charles Xavier is dead, and the X-Men have to move on.
And it looks as if the X-Men are moving on, big time!
I like how the animation resembles the animation of the old show, but definitely improved. It has the same style, but looking much better.
And I am sorry, but that whole Wolverine/Gambit scene with Gambit charging the adamantium claws… I have perhaps never seen anything more epic.
The speculation on the series of Echo was that it was going to be a failure. All the signs were pointing at the possible fact that Echo was going to be a mess. It had been pushed to January. They plan on dropping all episodes at the same time, a first for any Disney + show. And the character of Echo was easily the worst part of the Hawkeye series.
So color me surprised when this trailer came out and it was fantastic. The story of the trailer was centered around the relationship between Echo and Wilson Fisk, who looks as brutal as he did during the Netflix Daredevil series. It was a thrilling trailer.
Before the trailer, I was planning on watching Echo but I was not anticipating it. After the trailer, I am excited about the series and hope that it is as good as the trailer. The trailer succeeded in making me more intrigued for Echo.
I was watching the Geek Buddies on YouTube today, which is a podcast with John Rocha, Michael Vogel and Shannon McClung. During their weekly show, they typically talk about new trailers and so I figured I could add the trailers to this post.
Lisa Frankenstein
This looks kind of funny. It could be a fantastic film or a complete nightmare. Kathryn Newton leads the film.
Fargo Season 5
It has been awhile since I watched a season of Fargo. This trailer looks to have the oddball charm and bizarre feel of the best of this anthology series. By Nov. 21, Loki, Goosebumps will be done, maybe I’ll give this one a looksee.
Maestro Trailer 2
This is the Netflix movie, directed by Bradley Cooper, featuring the story of the relationship between icon Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein.
You should definitely give The Geek Buddies a try if you have not watched it before. John, Michael and Shannon have chemistry all over the place and they are always funny. They give some excellent opinions on geek culture and are always engaging.
I was unaware that there was a movie in the works telling the tragic story of the Von Erich family. Not only is there a movie, it is being made by A24.
The Von Erichs were a family of wrestlers, six sons of family patriarch Fritz Von Erich. Of the six sons, five died and three of them were by suicide.
This trailer looked amazing, with the time frame looking perfect. I am very anxious to see the story unfold.
The Iron Claw stars Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, Maura Tierney, Stanley Simons, with Holt McCallany and Lily James.
They had me with John Cena. His appearance looked epic… and then it got wild.
Add Bryce Dallas Howard, Henry Cavill, Bryan Cranston, Ariana DeBose, Catherine O’Hara, Dua Lipa, Samuel L. Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Sam Rockwell, and Chip the cat, the real-life cat of supermodel Claudia Vaughn.
Matthew Vaughn is the director and this trailer really excited me for a film that I had no idea about before today.
Okay, this Boys spin-off (or series that falls in the same universe) is going to debut this weekend (officially September 29th) and so I thought this was a good trailer to revisit.
Gen V feels like the concept of the X-Men, a school that trains the future heroes. Of course, much like the Boys itself, this looks way bloodier than any X-Men product I have seen (even more than Logan).
The character called “Bloody Marie” looks extremely intriguing. That is not her actual character name, but it sounded cool.
I will be curious to see if this new series can be anywhere near as entertaining as The Boys, because if it is, this will be an awesome show.
I thought this was the new trailer for the Squid Game 2 coming soon to Netflix.
It’s not.
I actually found another trailer for the show, but it was one of those fan made ones. I hate those because they are done so well these days that you can’t really tell if they are official.
This trailer is Squid Game: The Challenge, a new reality show/game show based on the Squid Game. I hadn’t heard anything about this show, but it does seem weird.
I can’t imagine that there would be anything near as intense or exciting about this as the series. I may give it a chance. It is on Netflix.
Two new trailers starring the ever amazing Nicholas Cage…
First, Butcher’s Crossing:
And following that, A24’s new film, Dream Scenario…
I’m not sure that you can get two more diverse roles/films releasing at the same time. Both of these trailers look great and Nic Cage seems to be at the top of his game.
Dream Scenario looks funny and it has the A24 reputation behind it. Butcher’s Crossing was filmed last year and is just now coming out.
Nic Cage certainly works a lot. He is a great actor and these both look fabulous.
