“A Quiet Life”
Dark Matter started their second season off with episode one on Apple TV. I have to say, it felt like years since the first season debuted. I was thinking three years maybe. When I looked at the debut date, it was May 8, 2024, which was nowhere near as long ago than I thought. It was worse yet, since I did not watch Dark Matter when it was released. I posted my reviews of season one in February of 2025. That is just a year and a half ago. It felt like it was way longer ago than that. It blew my mind.
So I had a hard time getting back into this show. The show has a complex storyline and a lot going on and it was tough to remember the ins and outs of this show.
Joel Edgerton starred as Jason. Jennifer Connelly played Daniela. They do a great job with their characters. By the end of the episode, I felt a little more confident about the story. They went through a recap in the story of Jason 1 and Jason 2, which I honestly had not remembered. But they set up the story arc for the season well.
However, I did not remember what the last image was meant to be, when Jason stepped out and realized that he was in a universe he had been in before. Was that the universe that he dropped his friend off in? Not sure.
I wonder how I will feel about the season as it progresses. I did enjoy the first season, so I hope I will enjoy the second season too.
