The HBO Max TV show prequel to the movie franchise, It, came out and was a major hit. However, it kicked off its first episode by introducing us to some awesome kid characters that Pennywise then promptly killed off in the final moments of the episode. It was brutal. It was a shock. It set the tone for the series moving forward. I know some people reacted poorly to the first episode slaughter because they liked these kids so much, but I understand the reasoning behind it, and the show certainly was able to recover from the moment.
