Checking back in with Boston Legal, we get three episodes that were solid, if not standout.

We see Alan doing some great work in the courtroom and some creative moments outside of court to get his point across. Shirley Schmidt had some great closing arguments too. In fact, I believe both cases she was involved in turned on Shirley’s closing. It was nice to see someone besides Alan getting the big moments and Candice Bergen knocks it out of the park.

We get introduced to Tom Selleck as Ivan, a former ex-husband of Shirley who was getting remarried, despite the fact that he still wanted to get back with Shirley. I have to admit that I never liked the character of Ivan much and the way he manipulated people in his life annoyed me.

However, the singing at the wedding and rehearsal of Ivan and his new bride was so wild that it hilarious.

Michael J. Fox left the scene after having several strong episodes with Denise. I did not remember that he came back, but it looked as if he does before he dies in season 3.

There was a big twist at the end of “Live Big” with the case that shook Alan. It was a cool change.
