This is another movie that is lower on my list than it would be on a bunch of other lists. I think the first 10 minutes are some of the best moments of all time, but the rest of the film is only good.

Truth is, the first time I saw Encanto, I thought it was kind of boring. It took a second rewatch for me to enjoy it more. I was in a better frame of mind the second time and on, finding the strengths of the Lin-Manuel Miranda songs and the fun, engaging story. I don’t know why that first viewing did not do it for me, but it goes to show that thoughts do change on movies over time.

I was a huge fan of the 1966 Batman show. I would watch it in syndication/reruns when I was young and it helped with my comic fandom. So when I found out that Adam West and Burt Ward were returning to their roles as Batman and Robin for an animated film, I was very excited, and it turned out better than I could have expected. Adam West passed away in June of the next year.

Some consider Wall-E a classic. I did not like the movie on my first viewing, and listening to all of the people calling it a masterpiece made me want to give it a second watch. I gave a rewatch in 2022 and I found it much better than I remembered when I saw it at first. There are others who are still much higher on this than me, but it will still make my top 100.

Luca is an underrated Pixar movie that was released on Disney + during the pandemic. Luca was forgotten by a lot of people but I think it deserved a better fate. Luca is a young sea monster who can change into a boy and come on land and meets some friends.

K-Pop Demon Hunters

Animation Style: stylized 2D/3D hybrid animation that blends anime aesthetics, Spider-Verse-style dynamic framerates, and real-life K-pop choreography.

I would not have guessed that this was a film that I would care about, let alone have on my Top 100 animated films of all time, but K-Pop Demon Hunters was surprisingly enjoyable and turned into a worldwide phenomenon on Netflix.
