Boston Legal S2 E19, E20

“Stick It”

“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”

Alan takes it back to his roots, hiring some thugs to intimidate a man and it bothered him. The man was a court appointed conservator, who was in control of an elderly woman and her money. Alan got involved because of Catherine Piper, played again by Betty White, who tried to kidnap the elderly woman from the care facility.

The courts did not help the situation any and so Alan took it into his own hands, making it go away, but in a manner that Alan was not happy about… in particular how easily he slipped into the role. Despite the results being good, Alan talked with Denny about it afterwards.

Ivan returned again and made a pitch for Shirley. Shirley kept rejecting him, because he was recently married. Ivan announced that he had left his wife and wanted to restart with Shirley.

We got a stand off with William Shatner and Tom Selleck, which was cool. Denny spoke in term of TV shows and main characters, while Ivan told him that he was strange.

Meanwhile, Paul had his daughter committed in rehab in a brutal moment. Paul had found his concern for the law firm to be waning as he spent more time with his granddaughter. Denny offered Paul his name on the door, but Paul refused it.

These two episodes work well together as we get a lot of the reasons why Boston Legal is so great. Big time stars. Reoccurring characters. Alan Shore lengthy final closing arguments. Denny Crane.
